Thing #13 Expermenting with Google Apps

I went to google applications and explored around the different sites. I am really confused as to how this will benefit me. I played with making a calender for the computer labs at work. I would like to find a calender that makes it easier to view and show the diffent class periods. As of now I am using an Excel spread sheet and I feel it is confusing to look at availabity. I really like the book search application. It was nice to see reviews and be able to read a small summary of the book content. I feel that the book search would be my favorite.

I think that Clerks a Rockin needs to give us a demo on the lab calendar that they use at SCH! I looked at the online calendar but couldn't figure out how to use it for our school. We have middle school on one time schedule for their periods and high school has a different time schedule for their periods. They both use the two labs all day long so I have to monitor the sign-up sheet constantly to make sure that no one overlaps each other.

This is a great idea. I would like to have a calendar as well. Right now the teachers fill out a sheet, then I transfer their request to to large laminated wall calendars. Sometimes I transpose the information, sometimes they come in and change it without my knowledge. I'd rather have an electronic accounting that I can print out.

Your right we need more instruction on this. It could be very usable for all of us.

a calendar that everyone can use and see would be great but how do you introduce that to your librarian? Some are very "old school" and think only they can make changes. I think that making changes or seeing who is using the library and lab on a daily or even hourly schedule would be helpful.
